Solano College Automotive Technology Facility
The Solano College Auto Technology facility is a state-of-the-art Career Tech learning environment where students are immersed in an industry-like setting.
The design is open and transparent allowing for program activities to be on display for visitors. The manufacturer’s display allows industry partners to display the latest in automotive technologies. Contemporary learning and instructional strategies led to the incorporation of small group instructional areas such as the “Flex Bay” where electric vehicle technology is taught and explored, as well as the outdoor learning plaza where classroom activities can move outdoors. “Go-Pro” live streaming technology will be used to assist students with viewing focused instructional activities. The project incorporates extensive sustainable design features such as rooftop solar panels, high efficiency HVAC & lighting systems, electric vehicle charging stations, as well as rainwater collection.
The new Auto Tech site is a huge opportunity for our students, our community - and not just Solano County. We’re already seeing people coming from everywhere.
A lot are relocating here to take our program.
